Coffee with Tamara

In innovation, there is often a chasm between theory and reality. On paper, the greatest ideas look crazy, but the ones we reward in real life are often those same ones. So how do you move ideas from theory to reality? That’s what Andre Filip, founder of ELA, joins me to talk about on this episode.

Andre Filip is the Founder and CEO of ELA (“Everything LA”), a global creative advertising agency headquartered in Los Angeles, and founded in 2004. A creative visionary with more than 15 years of experience, he has led innovative campaigns for HBO, Disney, TikTok, PepsiCo and many more. His passion is moving ideas into action, and helping brands and companies figure out what steps they need to take to get there.

Discussing ideas in theory feels really comfortable, but action can be extremely uncomfortable — Andre explains that taking action is never going to get less uncomfortable, you just get used to it. We also dive into what makes friction so important to innovation and how people can question not just the obvious assumptions, but also the underlying status quo to drive innovation. Andre shares more about creating a vibrant and thriving culture in your company. At the end of the day, it’s all about keeping yourself and people around you accountable to the ideal, but also effectively communicating what that ideal and greatness look like. Really, it's the spirit of intense action now, and doing it with everything you've got that’s going to help you achieve your goals.
